Mother of Dragons Bet on the Races for a Chance to Win Big The Mother of Dragons is a horse race in honor of Daenerys Targaryen, the Khaleesi and Mother of Dragons on the Game of Thrones television series. The inaugural race was held on May 19, 2018, at Finger Lakes Racetrack in Farmington, New York. The race is a $75,000 stakes event for three-year-olds and up willing to go one mile on the dirt. The field was limited to six horses. The favorite was two-time Grade 1 winner Catholic Boy, who was coming off a victory in the Blue Grass Stakes. The eventual winner was longshot A Raving Beauty, who paid $105.60 for every $2 bet to win. A Raving Beauty had only one previous start, a runner-up finish in an optional claimer race at Aqueduct Racetrack. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. rode her to victory.
